Katie’s Bridals

Congratulations Jeff & Katie on your big day today!!!

We (Koree and I) shot Katie’s bridals back in June and I was so excited to be able to post them!  Maybe my favorite bridals EVER.  I love her birdcage veil.

It was such a fun shoot!

See how happy she is?!?  This was at the end of the shoot when we were fighting off mosquitoes!  She’s a trooper!

Jaxson

Jaxson may have been one of the tiniest babies I’ve ever photographed and he was just so perfect to work with!  This is the very first picture I took of him.  I knew it was going to be a good day :).

I love those little lips!!

What an adorable new family!  I love that the colors they’re wearing match his bedroom!

Shannon and Mike

Shannon and I agreed that it would be really fun to do her maternity pictures at the Kemah boardwalk, especially since she lived only minutes away!  We all got up super early and met there before any crowds could get in our way.  As we were walking around chatting I asked about her induction date and she told me it was the next day!  Her doc had originally wanted to do it the day of the shoot, but she managed to convince him to wait one more day :).  So this is officially the closest to a baby’s birthday that I’ve done a maternity shoot!

Pretty sure this next shot is my favorite.  I love her purple nails!

The colors on the boardwalk are so fun and bright!  I’d love to do a shoot there when we can actually get on the rides :).

This is another favorite!  We were walking to the car and I asked for one last shot.  Luckily, laying in the middle of the road isn’t as dangerous so early in the morning.

Baby Jaxson arrived about two full days later and I can’t wait to show you some of his pictures.  He’s absolutely perfect.

Photographing a 2 1/2-year-old

Want to know how I got pictures of a 2 1/2-year-old like this one?

And these?

(the lollipop didn’t hurt)

A nice little game of hide and seek!  I think this is fairly universal for 2 1/2-3 year olds, yes?  I was just babysitting a friend’s boy recently and he sat in a box in the middle of the living room in plain view while I wandered around the house saying, “Where’s Max? Is he in the oven? Nooooo. Is he behind the couch? Noooo.” and he giggled hysterically the entire time.  We did this for at least 30 minutes.

In this video we stuck my niece, Ella, in a cute little outfit, gave her a lollipop, and took her to the backyard when the light was nice!  Thanks for being such a good little model, Ella :).

Josh and India

I got a call from Josh one Saturday morning hoping to schedule an engagement session with his fiance…that day!  They’re doing the long distance thing and she was only in town for the weekend.  All the crazy downpours we were getting canceled another shoot they had scheduled the day before.  The forecast jumped from a 10% chance of rain to 60% in a matter of hours, but we were able to meet up in the middle of the day and avoid getting rained on!

Don’t they look like the came out of a magazine?  I really get the best clients.

Josh went to Vanderbilt and is now working in Houston while India is in Atlanta.  Long distance sucks, but it looks like they’re handling it well!

India told me they swim, can you tell??  I would kill for those arms.

How cute are they?!  These next few are so sweet.

They wanted to get a shot by the skyline, but when we got to the location it was all blocked off!  After some quick thinking, we settled on doing the last few shots at this spot not too far away.

I love this next shot :).

Lastly…the ring.  Dang.
