D Family – Lifestyle Session

April is one of my favorite friends, though the last time I saw her she was pregnant with her first child!  Her maternity session remains one of my favorites.  It was so much fun to see her and her husband (Hi, Dave!) again and meet their two adorable boys.

L started off his morning with some cartoons.  Who doesn’t enjoy a good zoning-out every once in a while??

I really love these next two images :).

It also happened to be this little guy’s first birthday!  He was obviously far more interested in me than his breakfast.

Playing in curtains will never get old, little buddy.  Don’t let anyone tell you it will!  Funny side-note, L and I were playing together and hid in these curtains for a good 10 or so minutes before April realized that we were being really quiet and came looking for us.  She couldn’t believe he stayed so quiet and hidden for so long!

R wanted to do everything his big bro did!  I adore him.

The night before the session April started spray-painting a wall in their house with this blackboard paint…only to discover that it was also coating the entire living room with a fine mist of (we’re certain) cancer-causing black dust.  Only one can got used up, just enough for individual portraits, but we both think it was totally worth it.

And then we were off to the Getty!

We got R a cupcake for his first birthday and he attacked that thing with the ferocity of a velociraptor.  As you can see.

That was a Sprinkles cupcake, kiddo.  It’s all downhill from here.

I think L equally enjoyed his ice cream.

This is one of my favorites.  Love this kid!

We also made a little trip to the beach.

I don’t know how he got so sandy so quickly, but I kind of love it.

Another favorite!

I can’t wait until my next trip out to see you guys!  Hopefully we won’t wait another 4 years :).  Love you!!

I also LOVE these pictures. Helps when the subjects are beautiful (manly) but the pictures are so well composed and the lighting perfect. It was nice to meet you Kelli and hope to see you again.

I love them, Kelli! I just keep looking at them. The one of L holding Dave’s hand on the train! And the one of Dave and I holding the kids who aren’t looking at the camera! And R and me at the beach! I love them! It was a pleasure to have you stay with us. I still think a dad and two moms might be the sweet spot. We miss you.

These are great! April is such a babe. Motherhood looks good on you, lady. Kelli, when are you coming to upstate NY to stay with us and take gorgeous photos? We have apple picking and amazing Fall colors coming up in October. I know you can’t find that in Houston. Please come!!

I already said this somewhere else, but I really love these shots…the light, the colors, the composition….all of it. Nice job. These lifestyle shots really capture the happiness and love they so evidently have.
