Kate’s Headshots

Kate is a friend here in Houston who needed some new headshots! She sings and she is amazing. We shot at one of my favorite locations, Uptown Park. It was so fun to get together and do a mini-session for her!

Devin

This was the most fun I've ever had photographing a guy. Devin made it easy!  He's not quite cute enough to make me want to give up photographing babies, but this was a fun change!

Also, I think he sort of looks like a celebrity.

Chantel

When I was in college I had around 32 roommates total.  Chantel was in my last apartment and was one of my very favorites!  She studied accounting and would stay late at the library, getting home past midnight every night.  I frequently waited up for her and then we'd talk and giggle in the bathroom until our roommate Tina stumbled out of her room and asked us to keep it down (usually around 2 am).  Memories of these late nights and our exploits around town made me really miss Chantel, so I made her come visit me in Houston!

Chantel is one of the most incredible people I've ever met!  She's deeply dedicated, passionate, loyal, ambitious, fun, spontaneous, and contemplative.  I don't know how many people will join me in chasing and following rabbits into bushes and then have a serious discussion on behavioral economics.  You can see what I mean when you look at her blog here.

By the way, going to a carnival in the middle of a work day in a sketchy part of town is a little disconcerting.  The few workers that were there just stared at us while we took these shots.

After all the fun we had in Houston I asked her to come to India with me too :).  Working with kids in an orphanage/school there was quite exhausting, but one of my new favorite memories with Chantel.  I'm so glad we're friends!  I'll treasure these memories and these photos when we're old and wrinkly :).

Taylor

Taylor's niece was my first newborn shoot in Houston over a year ago!  Taylor is graduating from High School this year so got together for a senior session.

Senior sessions are definitely a favorite.  I had so much fun talking and shooting!

Taylor told me all about her trip to Europe this summer with a group of graduates and I'm so excited for her!  What a fun way to finish off high school.

This next shot might be my favorite.  Gorgeous, yes???

Hope that case of senioritis doesn't kill you before the end of the school year!

Elisabeth

Elisabeth is a friend of a friend and she came up with a very thoughtful gift for her parents. She decided to capture some pictures of herself for Christmas (she's an only child and what parents wouldn't love that?!?).

We headed downtown to some locations I have used before...yet discovered several new areas too!  My boyfriend came along again to second-shoot and kept an eye out for rockin' areas to shoot.  Several of the shots below are his!

The first half of these pictures were all taken within a few blocks of each other. Good job downtown Houston!

One of my favorite shots of her (below) was taken by my boyfriend!  He claims he had an excellent teacher, but I think it's mainly talent.

I went a little crazy with all the following "24" shots.  Surprisingly, we have the same favorite number! Turns out we have much more in common. Among other things, we both turned 24 this year (less than a month apart and for her it was 24 on the 24th), and we met our significant others in similar ways.  Needless to say, it was fun getting to know each other.

My BF's view:

* Any of the shots that look like I'm 6' 8" were taken with me on top of my BF's shoulders.
