D Family – Lifestyle Session

April is one of my favorite friends, though the last time I saw her she was pregnant with her first child!  Her maternity session remains one of my favorites.  It was so much fun to see her and her husband (Hi, Dave!) again and meet their two adorable boys.

L started off his morning with some cartoons.  Who doesn’t enjoy a good zoning-out every once in a while??

I really love these next two images :).

It also happened to be this little guy’s first birthday!  He was obviously far more interested in me than his breakfast.

Playing in curtains will never get old, little buddy.  Don’t let anyone tell you it will!  Funny side-note, L and I were playing together and hid in these curtains for a good 10 or so minutes before April realized that we were being really quiet and came looking for us.  She couldn’t believe he stayed so quiet and hidden for so long!

R wanted to do everything his big bro did!  I adore him.

The night before the session April started spray-painting a wall in their house with this blackboard paint…only to discover that it was also coating the entire living room with a fine mist of (we’re certain) cancer-causing black dust.  Only one can got used up, just enough for individual portraits, but we both think it was totally worth it.

And then we were off to the Getty!

We got R a cupcake for his first birthday and he attacked that thing with the ferocity of a velociraptor.  As you can see.

That was a Sprinkles cupcake, kiddo.  It’s all downhill from here.

I think L equally enjoyed his ice cream.

This is one of my favorites.  Love this kid!

We also made a little trip to the beach.

I don’t know how he got so sandy so quickly, but I kind of love it.

Another favorite!

I can’t wait until my next trip out to see you guys!  Hopefully we won’t wait another 4 years :).  Love you!!

Sara & Ben

I love this family. And not just these two beautiful people. I’ve photographed Sara’s whole family…several times. And yes, they’re all just as stunning as her!

I also love a good trade! I met up with Sara in LA and she gave me a private cooking class! When Ben got home we went out on the town, and then up to their rooftop! They live in an amazing apartment right in downtown LA. They watched Michael Jackson’s funeral from their patio. I was drooling over the amazing amenities their building had to offer and it made me so want to move to LA.

LOVE this one! Definitely favorite.

Another favorite!

I had to post this last one again. Awesomeness.

I had such a blast with the cooking class and discovering cool spots around LA! Thanks so much for the trade Sara!

Robyn and Kevin’s Wedding!

Here are the rest of the pictures from Robyn and Kevin’s awesome wedding! I think I told her about 50 times, but I LOVE her dress. I love that it’s not white and I would totally wear it myself. If only I was tall enough to get away with flat shoes though :).

Robyn really loves sun flares. The the day we shot their engagements it was raining. No sun. Then the evening before the wedding when we did the pre-wedding pics, it was overcast. No sun. At the temple the sun was far too overhead to get good sun flare, so on the way back to Ramona for the reception we stopped at this field. And got several of these (not without about 87 prickly things attaching themselves to my legs and dress or ants crawling through her bouquet, but I think it was worth it).

I always love the dancing pictures :).

Congratulations!!
