Dream Baby

8 days and so perfectly perfect. It was so much fun to photograph this little guy. I’ve photographed his big brother several times and they look so much alike! Here is big brother at 6 weeks old! And here’s this little man when he was still in mama’s tummy.

warning: I am not responsible for any overly-active ovaries or a sudden longing to have a baby.

Got a few in with Grandma when she came for a visit!

Zoo in my belly!

I don’t normally do a post like this, but I photograph a lot of families and I want you all to know about this adorable children’s book! In February I did an engagement session in London (which I failed to blog…oops). The female half of the pair is working on a PhD in design and I had no idea she was THIS talented. I just saw the website and am madly in-love with her pictures. I love good art (and I’m picky) and I love a good children’s book. This covers both! The book isn’t complete yet, but the first 500 people to sign up on the email list will get a discount when it comes out. Hopefully she’ll be selling the pictures as posters on fabric too, which would look so cute in a child’s room! Now I just need to get a child…

Check it out here!

And for good measure, here’s a picture from the e-session.

Nicole and Quincy married!

This was such a fun, unique wedding! I got to fly into Portland for a little engagement session a few days before the big day and then we drove up to Chehalis, Washington for a wedding in a barn! All the details were so different and so them. Just check out her dress and cowboy boots!

Special thanks to my second-shooter Jaqui!

The radical ring

Meanwhile, the guys got ready in the men’s room oh, about 10 minutes 🙂

Got some portraits done before the ceremony, but with no bride! These bridesmaids, they pretty much rock. We could totally be friends. It was such a great weekend!

Isn’t the flower girl so adorable?? If you look closely you can see that she’s wearing cowboy boots too.

The bride’s little sister 🙂

Ring bearer!

And it’s GO time!

The flower girl had a basket full of leaves that she dropped instead of flowers.

The second I saw those stairs I wanted to do this tilt-shift shot. And dang, that sky could not have been bluer.

Beautiful flowers in mason jar centerpieces!
Here’s their cake, which they cut and fed each other, but they also had peach cobbler!

Yes, I couldn’t help but take a self-portrait during the dinner break 🙂

Sisters 🙂

Party time! They had such a fun first dance!

I think they really want that garter…
First he did a little dance around his bride…
and this man knows how to take off a garter!
The couple that caught the bouquet and garter are together! And they only had to knock over a few small children and old people to get them. They were so cute and excited :). LOVE it!

AND the school bus shuttle. It was wicked cool.
I’m a sucker for those holding out the camera self-portraits.

Congratulations Nicole and Quincy! Thank you again SO much for having me. It was a blast getting to know you!

The day before the wedding in Chehalis, Washington a couple of weeks ago I wandered around this awesome little town we were all staying in. Centralia, Washington, you totally rock.

PS: I’m currently IN Washington right now, again, with limited access to email. Just thought I’d let you know 🙂

BFA Opening Reception

My senior project!!! I can officially graduate now. The hard part comes when I have to click on that little button that says "apply for graduation." Eh, my day will come.

I wanted to tell you all how much I appreciate everyone’s support and love throughout this project! Thanks so much to everyone who came to my opening reception, participated in my show, or just looked at my show.

Here are some pictures from the evening. Don’t let looks fool you, I’m actually the shortest of the 3 (my twin sister and my mom). Go big shoes!

We made lots of truffles. Peanut butter…mmmmm.
These were the mint oreo ones.
Here’s how the show looked! The prints are all black and white 16×24 gallery wrapped canvas prints. It was so much fun to see them all up together!

And here are all the final pictures that made it into the show. I had the amazing opportunity to photograph over 20 moms and babies, but I initially proposed 12 to my professor and my wallet was hit pretty hard, so I wasn’t able to do them all. I was able to print 17 of my favorites.

To all the wonderful moms that helped out: If you’d like to purchase your print at a discounted price please let me know asap. You can contact me at kelli (at) kellinicolephoto (dot) com for prcing information. I’m driving to the SF bay area in 6 days so if you live out there I can drive it out and we won’t have to worry about shipping costs! If you live anywhere else please let me know if you’d like your print. If I don’t know by Tuesday if you want your picture it will be unavailable until January as I’ll be traveling outside of Utah until then, where I’ll be leaving the pictures.

And now, the beautiful, inspiring, incredible moms and their darling babies.
