Sam

I loved meeting baby Sam!  He’s the little brother of Stella and I loved seeing how alike they looked.  This is Sam…

and this is Stella!

Another one of Sam…

and a similar one of his big sister.

There are noticeable differences, but they sure are siblings!  Sam calm and easy to photograph just like his big sister.

Gavin

I’ve photographed several newborns the last few months who made it to this world a month or two earlier than expected.  Gavin was one of those little guys and I got to photograph him right around his due date, but still newborn sized!  What a handsome little guy he is :).

Chantel

When I was in college I had around 32 roommates total.  Chantel was in my last apartment and was one of my very favorites!  She studied accounting and would stay late at the library, getting home past midnight every night.  I frequently waited up for her and then we’d talk and giggle in the bathroom until our roommate Tina stumbled out of her room and asked us to keep it down (usually around 2 am).  Memories of these late nights and our exploits around town made me really miss Chantel, so I made her come visit me in Houston!

Chantel is one of the most incredible people I’ve ever met!  She’s deeply dedicated, passionate, loyal, ambitious, fun, spontaneous, and contemplative.  I don’t know how many people will join me in chasing and following rabbits into bushes and then have a serious discussion on behavioral economics.  You can see what I mean when you look at her blog here.

By the way, going to a carnival in the middle of a work day in a sketchy part of town is a little disconcerting.  The few workers that were there just stared at us while we took these shots.

After all the fun we had in Houston I asked her to come to India with me too :).  Working with kids in an orphanage/school there was quite exhausting, but one of my new favorite memories with Chantel.  I’m so glad we’re friends!  I’ll treasure these memories and these photos when we’re old and wrinkly :).

R Family

I think this is turning into the week where I blog lots of pictures from shoots I never got around to as this one was from last fall!  This was my second time shooting the R family and I loved seeing them again.  They are such a beautiful family and after a rough week for me personally photographing them was the perfect thing to make me smile.

Annabel was dancing for me here and it just cracks me up to look at this picture!  She was even more adorable than the previous year.

What a beautiful family you are!  Thanks for making my job awesome :).

Kate

Kate is the sweet little girl of one of my best friends here in Houston!  She was born while I was out of town back in January and we did a shoot just a couple of days after I got home.  Crystal found out she was pregnant last year after we spent a day skydiving and then a week getting scuba certified!  The day after our certification dive she took a pregnancy test and we schemed together how to tell her husband.  I was SO excited for this little one to get here :).

Our friend JJ came over to help out and took some fun behind-the -scene pictures with his point and shoot!  I think Crystal was a bit nervous about us taking the diaper off in this next shot!

I love this of these two!  I actually have it printed out and it makes me happy every time I look at it.

She looks so little here!

We were trying to calm Kate here so she was sucking on Crystal’s finger while I patted her on the bum.

At the end of the shoot JJ offered to take a picture of me and Kate so I handed the camera over, picked her up and we got this great shot (despite her looking very suspiciously out the window, I think it’s adorable).  Thanks, JJ!

I love you, Crystal!!  I’m so glad I get to be around to watch Kate grow.
