I photographed the Foley family back in November and I don’t think I’ve ever seen two parents who were more involved with their baby. Â They were awesome! Â They did whatever they could think of to make their little guy smile, including making a plethora of strange noises and making him “dance” gangnam style (and it worked! haha). Â It was such a pleasure to see their little family in action.
April is one of my favorite friends, though the last time I saw her she was pregnant with her first child! Â Her maternity session remains one of my favorites. Â It was so much fun to see her and her husband (Hi, Dave!) again and meet their two adorable boys.
L started off his morning with some cartoons. Â Who doesn’t enjoy a good zoning-out every once in a while??

It also happened to be this little guy’s first birthday! Â He was obviously far more interested in me than his breakfast.
Playing in curtains will never get old, little buddy. Â Don’t let anyone tell you it will! Â Funny side-note, L and I were playing together and hid in these curtains for a good 10 or so minutes before April realized that we were being really quiet and came looking for us. Â She couldn’t believe he stayed so quiet and hidden for so long!
R wanted to do everything his big bro did! Â I adore him.
The night before the session April started spray-painting a wall in their house with this blackboard paint…only to discover that it was also coating the entire living room with a fine mist of (we’re certain) cancer-causing black dust. Â Only one can got used up, just enough for individual portraits, but we both think it was totally worth it.
And then we were off to the Getty!
We got R a cupcake for his first birthday and he attacked that thing with the ferocity of a velociraptor. Â As you can see.
That was a Sprinkles cupcake, kiddo. Â It’s all downhill from here.
I think L equally enjoyed his ice cream.
This is one of my favorites. Â Love this kid!
We also made a little trip to the beach.
I don’t know how he got so sandy so quickly, but I kind of love it.

The first time I photographed the Van Brunt family L was just a newborn! Â It was so fun to see her again and see how she’s grown. Â I get to photograph her 1st birthday next month and I’m so excited!
I just love the colors in her nursery. Â The blues look so great with her eyes!

I think this is turning into the week where I blog lots of pictures from shoots I never got around to as this one was from last fall!  This was my second time shooting the R family and I loved seeing them again.  They are such a beautiful family and after a rough week for me personally photographing them was the perfect thing to make me smile.
Annabel was dancing for me here and it just cracks me up to look at this picture! Â She was even more adorable than the previous year.
